Written in the third person, Absolutamente Felizes ao Sol (Utterly Happy in the Sun) moves through the memories, dreams, fears, and self-narratives of ten women, still young.
Nameless, each is only ever she, at once one and many possibilities of women, alive in a prose that recurs on its own words and images, refrain-like.
Against the backdrop of fast-changing Lisbon, the stories dwell in solitude, precarity, escapism, the pull of home and belonging, and the longing for a better world.
The book won the literary award Prémio Literário Eufrázio Filipe for its “fluid and poetic language through which the hardships of everyday life are conveyed with quiet yet resonant force.”
A Brazilian edition is forthcoming from Editora Nós Brasil.

Pequenas Resistências: Ideias sobre jornalismo, utopias e amor público (Small Resistances: Ideas about journalism, utopias and public love) follows a group of young investigative journalists in Lisbon as they unearth stories of systemic oppression while struggling to achieve financial independence.
Their journey serves as a lens through which to explore pressing global questions: What role can journalism play in times of growing inequality and authoritarianism? Can journalism write — and revise — history? Is neutrality in journalism a myth?
In seeking answers, the book reflects on how to meaningfully engage and include people, the responsibilities of narrative, and the challenges — and beauty — of collective stories.
The book is available in Portuguese, and I'm currently seeking representation for English-language markets.
